Last week (23rd November 2022), Ann Shearer of Obair Associates delivered a presentation written by her colleague, Linda Agnew.
The wide-ranging talk covered:
- The valuable role that occupational therapy offers within occupational health
- The experience of ill health; injury or disability can affect all aspects of an individual’s life including their capacity to sustain the demands of work
- The flow of occupational therapy work
- How employers are asking questions regarding capacity and fitness
- How referrals are increasingly being made to occupational therapists.
The presentation ended with an extensive answer and question session. One question asked was around the role of occupational therapy in helping the employer to understand the functional impact of the menopause on work capacity.
The presentation was well attended and well received.
