Walk500 Challenge – facts & figures

Walk500 Challenge has been an outstanding success to keep our people and our customers, our suppliers physically and mentally strong during lockdown.

A huge thank you to all those of you who have taken part and created some amazing memories over the last ten weeks. We have raised a fantastic £6,280.23 (inc. gift aid).

Here are some facts and figures to close the event:

42 teams joined the challenge 

Team with the highest mileage:
Lockdown Legends with 2095.84 miles.          

Team submitted most photos:
Game of Roams The Lockdown with 26 pics.            

Total miles walked: 32,486.34 which is the equivalent of:

  1. Walking round the circumference of the moon three times
  2. Walking round the equatorial circumference of the world and part of the way back again
  3. Walking the entire area of Scotland including the islands
  4. Walking from Land’s End to John O’Groats and back again 26 times
  5. Completing 1,249 marathons
  6. Burning 3.25million calories

Discussing these cases with customers, we identified that hand and upper limb injuries were achieving poor outcomes.
