Flora McMullon has been nominated by one of her clients for the 2024 Helen Bolter Award from FND Hope UK – charity that supports those diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder.
The nominee wrote –
‘I had an accident in the workplace last year. Flora has been such a comfort in explaining and arranging an amazing rehab team to help with my FND after diagnosis, always on the phone when needed. FND felt like a life sentence at first, but now feels manageable with great care staff’
Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) is a problem with the functioning of the nervous system and how the brain and body send and receive signals. Physical and/or psychological factors can cause symptoms, which include a variety of physical, sensory and cognitive symptoms.
Flora, the FND Lead and the team at Proclaim Care established a new FND Case Management pathway, working collaboratively with the leading FND specialists, Brain & Mind. The service was launched in 2023 and is already being used by insurers and solicitors.
